Compatibility and game content
Living the Dream
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream can be played on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo says the software content is the same on both systems, so Switch 2 is not a separate edition with different island features.

Loading and handheld resolution
Living the Dream
Switch 2 may provide improvements such as faster loading. In handheld mode it runs at 1080p, higher than Switch handheld output, regardless of the Handheld Mode Boost setting; the full game therefore does not support that boost feature.

Buttons, touch, and mouse controls
Living the Dream
Button controls are the primary input. Mii creation and the Palette House workshop also support touch in some scenes, but Joy-Con 2 mouse controls are not supported, so a mouse-style control plan will not work.

GameChat is separate from local exchange
Living the Dream
Switch 2 can use GameChat for conversation and screen sharing, with Nintendo Switch Online required for that feature. Mii and creation exchange still uses the game's nearby local-wireless flow rather than GameChat or online transfer.
