What the free demo includes
Living the Dream
Download the Welcome Version from Nintendo eShop to start an island and create up to three Mii characters. It is a free starting slice, not a separate island that must be rebuilt if you later buy the game.
- Create up to three Miis.
- Begin the same island you can continue later.

How save carryover works
Living the Dream
After purchasing the full game, use the supported demo save-data transfer so you can pick up where the Welcome Version ended. Keep the demo save on the same user profile until the transfer is complete.
- Finish your demo session.
- Purchase the full game.
- Transfer the Welcome Version save when prompted.

Hamster Costume reward
Living the Dream
Complete the demo to receive a Hamster Costume that can be given to a Mii in the full game. The costume is not permanently missable: Nintendo says it also becomes available through regular play in the main game.

Before transferring
Living the Dream
Update the Welcome Version when Nintendo publishes a demo update, then retain its save data until the full game recognizes it. If the transfer option is missing, confirm that the demo and full game belong to the same console user before deleting anything.
